Privacy Policy

HVAC Tech Companion ("the app", "we", "us") is a field reference and diagnostics tool for HVAC technicians. This policy explains what information the app handles and how. We built this app to be useful and trustworthy — we collect as little as possible and we never sell your data.

• Nameplate photos. When you use the AI Nameplate Decoder, the photo you capture is sent to our AI provider to extract equipment details. Photos are used to return a result and are not used to build advertising profiles.
• Voice and text questions. When you use the Voice Field Assistant, the question you ask is processed to generate an answer.
• Diagnostic and usage data. We may collect basic, non-identifying app diagnostics (such as crash reports) to fix bugs and improve reliability.
• On-device data. Core tools such as calculators, wiring diagrams, and refrigerant charts work on your device and do not require sending data to us.

• To provide the app's features and return AI results.
• To diagnose problems, fix bugs, and improve the app.
• To respond to support requests you send us.

AI features rely on third-party AI processing services to interpret photos and questions. The data you submit for those features is shared with the provider only to perform the requested task, subject to their terms and privacy practices. The app is distributed for beta testing through Apple TestFlight, which is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

We retain the information described above only as long as needed to provide the service, support you, and improve the app, or as required by law. You can request deletion of information associated with you by contacting us.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with third parties except the service providers needed to operate the app's features, or when required by law.

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The app is intended for HVAC professionals and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

You can stop using AI features at any time to avoid sending photos or questions for processing. You may also request access to or deletion of your information by contacting us.

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We will revise the effective date above when changes are made. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
